Sunny Beach

Sunny Beach is the largest Bulgarian family resorts on the Black Sea situated some 35km away from Burgas and Bourgas Airport. Developed since 1958 surrounded by clean and sandy beaches - stretching over 8 kilometres facing east - interspersed by natural sand dunes, has over a hundred and fifty hotels, holiday apartments, three campsites, numerous villas and private rooms and over 130 restaurants to choose from! Sunny Beach is a place where you can to relax and unwind, take a sporting break or go night-clubbing and dancing - there is some-thing for everyone. At south end is Nessebar at north is situated St. Vilas and Elemite Holiday Village.

Golden Sands

The Golden Sands sea resort is a nice beach resort situated some 17km north from Varna and 13 km away from Albena beach resort. Here you can while away the hours in guaranteed sun-shine from May through to October. Summers are long and warm - with average temperatures of up to 27�C in the High Season, tempered by a mild, refreshing sea breeze. The water, too, is a pleasant 24�C during the July-August period.

The resort offers plenty of opportunity to discover the local folk-lore - local food and drink accompanied by traditional song and dance, haunting melodies, colourful costumes, live entertainment to suit all tastes and unforgettable customs (such as fire dancing - barefoot across burning coals). Golden Sands is perfect sea resort for all ages - whether you're single, in a couple, married with children, retired or traveling in a group... there is something for everyone. There is a good selection of comfortable hotels, small guesthouses and private accommodation.


Nessebar is situated some 35km away from Burgas and next to Sunny Beach sea resort from the south part. Near Nessebar are situated St. Vlas, Ravda, Sarafovo and Pomorie. Founded 6-7 centuries B.C. Nessebar was a Greek colony situated in Bulgarian lands. Very peaceful and pictures place deserve to be seen located on semi peninsula, Nessebar nowadays is an important tourist destination and historical place in Bulgaria.

Sozopol - the City of Salvation

Further south, lying on the Gulf of Burgas, you can find the resorts of Snoopily, one of Ancient Greece's oldest settlements formerly known as 'Apollonian Pontiac' named after Apollo, the patron of seafarers. Today it resembles a cluster of welcoming turn-of-the century houses dotted along the rocky headland, interspersed with small garden shrines. Somewhat quieter than Nessebar, the resort also provides the tourist with two fine, sandy beaches, set off nicely against the tranquil charm of fishing life. One lies within a sheltered bay with the second, larger beach extending southwards beyond the headland. Sozopol is traversed by beautiful narrow lanes, old houses and its romantic charm has attracted artists and writers throughout the centuries.

Accommodation in Sozopol consists of a small guesthouse-inn, a former naval club, or either private room in old houses on the peninsula or else larger chalet-style dwellings in the new town. Nearby, the port of Burgas is well worth a visit. In addition to an international airport, this important commercial coastal town has an attractive centre with lively terraces and plentiful cafes, offering tourists a warm welcome. The presence of visiting ships and passing tourists lends Bourgas a certain cosmopolitan air, especially during its folk festival, held in late August.


The town of Primorsko is a climate resort and a centre for youth tourism. It is situated 6 km north of the village of Kiten

, 52 km south of Bourgas and 422 km southeast of Sofia. The well famous Primorsko bay facing east, the longest and prettiest on the coast. Resort is known as a place which is preferred by young Bulgarians who come here and stay in the numerous rest homes, hostels, student dorms and campgrounds. Here is the so called 'International Youth Resort Centre (MMC)' which still attracts thousands of young people. In 1998 Primorsko was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe - recognition of the purity of the nature in its region. The River Ropotamo is in the vicinity of Primorsko. The Ropotamo is one of the largest natural reserves of Bulgaria. This reserve is world famous for its rare birds and plants that can be found only here.


Kiten is a small and beautiful town, situated 45 km south of Burgas and only 5 kilometers sought from Primorsko and MMC resorts. It was founded in 1931 by fugitives from Greece and immigrants from the surrounding villages. After 1970, Kiten has been developing as an attractive centre for many tourists. Nowadays Kiten is a prosperous modern tourist village with a number of private lodgings, cozy hotels, restaurants, snack-bars, discos, amusement park, water slides and playgrounds. The north beach, called Atliman with calm and clean sea is covered with fine golden sand and is protected from storms. The south beach is bigger and abuts the Kiten River, which is rich in fish. The season begin in May and ends in October.

Elenite Holiday Village

The Elenite Holiday Village, lying just north of Sunny Beach, offers stylish villa accommodation overlooking a beautiful stretch of clean sandy beach - complete with bar, disco, tennis courts, shopping facilities, restaurants and bike hire facilities to tour the surrounding area.

Duni Holiday Village

A recent tourist development, the large protected bay of the Duni Holiday Village is a perfect setting for your holidays. Situated some 7 km from Sozopol and 40 km away from Burgas. Stylish buildings, some of which imitate the traditional local style of timbered houses, make Duni a perfect spot for intimate and family holidaymakers. Named after the local sand dunes, the beach is of outstanding quality reaching southwards for 3km, bordered to one side by Lake Alepu, a tranquil lagoon and home to various species of wildlife.

As one of Bulgaria's newer resorts, Albena caters for the young and stylish. And if you are feeling particularly intrepid, its new sports centre offers paragliding and sky-diving. If you want to unwind then Albena offers a wide choice of balneotherapy cures. Albena has a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets from 4-star hotels and bungalows, to camping in traditional wooden chalets. Its restaurants tend to be small and intimate, offering good, honest cuisine and excellent locally-caught seafood. And if you want to experience local folklore there's ample opportunity in Albena and the surrounding area.
